  • Coconut Water [ नारियल पानी ], 3/4 Cups
    → Fresh Or Canned.
  • Sugar [ चीनी ], 1/4 Cup
  • Active Dry Yeast [ सक्रिय सुखा खमीर ], 1/2 Teaspoon
    → Dissolved In Water.
  • Salt [ नमक ], 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Water [ पानी ], As desired
    → To Be Used For Grinding And Mixing.
  • Clarified Butter [ घी ], As desired
  • Banana Leaves [ केले की पत्तियाँ ], As desired
    → To Be Used For Steaming.

Method for preparing Sannas

  • Raw rice must be soaked in water for four to five hours.
  • To make a smooth batter, combine the soaked rice, grated coconut, and coconut milk. The batter should be the consistency of dosa batter; add additional water if required.
  • Pour the batter into a large mixing bowl.
  • Now is the time to add the sugar and yeast to the batter. Combine all the ingredients.
  • Place the bowl in a warm place, cover it, and set aside for 6 to 8 hours, or until the batter has doubled in size.
  • When the batter has had time to ferment, add the salt.
