Vedas

The Vedas are the oldest books in Hinduism and are considered to be the foundation of Indian intellectual and spiritual thought. People thought that these old writings, which were supposed to be messages from God, contained the cosmic order, ceremonies, faith, and the essence of life. The four most important books in the Vedas are the Rigveda, the Samaveda, the Yajurveda, and the Atharvaveda. Different ideas about the world, life, and God can be found in each of these holy books.
